What is a mathgram?
A mathgram is the card Graphiti generates after it fits an equation to your drawing. It pairs your original hand-drawn stroke with the equation, a fit score, and a term count, laid out to share on TikTok or Instagram.
Is Graphiti free?
Graphiti is free to use during the beta period — no account required to make your first mathgram. We haven't finalized long-term pricing yet, and we'll announce it clearly before anything changes.
What shapes and curves does it support?
Graphiti covers lines, parabolas and other polynomials, circles and ellipses, sine and cosine waves, and spiral-like curves at launch, with more families on the way. See the gallery for real example equations from several of these families.
When does Graphiti launch?
We don't have a public launch date yet. The waitlist is the first place we'll announce one, so joining it is the fastest way to find out.
Is my drawing data private?
Graphiti hasn't launched, so no drawing data is being collected by the app yet. Our working principle is that a drawing exists to generate your equation and mathgram, not to be sold or repurposed. We'll publish a full privacy policy before launch.
Does it work on mobile?
Graphiti is mobile-first: drawing with a finger or stylus is the core interaction, and mathgrams are built for phone-native sharing, right in your mobile browser.
What's the difference between this and a graphing calculator?
A graphing calculator goes from equation to picture: you type a formula and it draws the curve. Graphiti goes the other direction: you draw the curve, and it searches for the equation. You never need to already know the formula.
Do I need to know math to use it?
No. You draw; Graphiti handles the search and the notation. Understanding the resulting equation is optional — plenty of people will use it just for the mathgram.
What if my drawing doesn't match a clean equation?
Graphiti still returns its closest candidate and is upfront about the fit — a rough or wandering stroke gets a lower fit score and an honest note rather than a falsely confident 100% match.
Can I use it to check my math homework?
Graphiti is for exploring and sharing shapes, not a verified homework solver. It's a fun way to see what equation your hand-drawn curve resembles, but you should double-check anything you rely on for schoolwork.
